I bought the avr x2400h 3 years ago last year started getting really hot and shots down when volume is up for a prolonged time. Thought Denon was a good brand.

Nice review. Looking forward to your 2023 "best" list. I do have Anthem MRX740 and later AVM70 (not top-of-the-line AVM90). The rest of my setup (Atmos 7.2.4) consists of B&W 805D3s & HTM4D2 as front stage (L/C/R) driven by Mark Levinson No 533H (3Ch 200WPC) power amp. What speakers were used to auditioning the AVRs? Can you explain exactly how you arrived at Arcam AVR31 being the "best" sounding unit over Anthem MRX740? The Arcam ESS Sabre DACs over Anthem AKM DACs might be a contributor. What about the power amplifier section? What attributes did you use to characterize sonically better? One can NOT measure this - purely personal subjectivity here, correct? Thanks.

I have 2 Klipsch ceiling speakers installed in my basement and another set of 2 Klipsch ceiling speakers are installed in my Living room. Should I buy 2.1 or 3.1 or 5.1 or 7.1 channel amplifier. please suggest which ever is appropriate in my case? Also, is 1 AV receiver sufficient for Klipsch ceiling speakers installed in my basement and Living room?

Best thing ever. Except for having to order a new subwoofer connector. But apart from that, sound is superb. Can't wait to hear it with the sub connected.

Best stereo system I have yet to match is the one I have since 1988 with 6 CD changer, 250 watt per channel, and 4 12" woofers. 3 way speakers with 2 0 band graphic equalizer. It's analog, but it can shake the beejesus out of a house. Have get to hear any speaker systems to match the sound quality. 10Hz to 28khz. Dolby yes, no 5.1 but surround yes via quad speakers. Massive Rumble. Something one subwoofer cannot do. Lol.

i have am a huge fan of Onkyo... I used to swear by Sony and Pioneer receivers for the price vs quality until i got my first Onkyo about 10 years ago.. but maybe its finally time to try a different receiver.

Hello, I have an arcam avr30 with DLBC. I have read you say that the 31 is the best avr that you have heard and I was wondering if the anthen mrx1140 is better than the arcam?

Which newer B&W speakers and amplifier do you advice to ad for listening (streaming & cd) music?
I liked my CDM7’s with my Vincent SV500 amplifier (sadly sold years ago)

i have a demon reciver and spund like 💩... my speakers are quite good... i have 5+2+ 1 kef speakers . ive spend 3k on those speakers and for 2 years i only use the tv integrated speakers... that says allot. now im considering to buy a yamaha receiver that cost around 1.2k
the demon receiver was 500£ in sale and is a 7+1 and hes having all those features but is just not good at all.. ive tried 100 times during this years to set it right..done everything and still no good results. the dolby sount so bad.. omg..
