One question. Will there be any issue with wi-fi sharing to this device via my phone while simultaneously providing Tidal through that same phone? I've came across that issue trying to hook some other device. Anyone?! Thanks

Fantastic little option for those 2nd and 3rd systems where you can include them in you network and control. Also great for things like an old console where you want to add more than just Bluetooth connectivity.

John, I sent an email to Wiim asking them if they will introduce streamer with USB output and they replied back with a confirmation that they will release one in 2023. I hope you will get your hands on one and review it when it’s available.

I like the WiiM Mini a lot. Bit-perfect playback and gapless when using Amazon music HD. I can also use the Amazon Music App and cast bit-perfect gaplessly to the WiiM without opening the WiiM app. My only criticism is that it doesn't work with my Synology Server. It sees the server, connects and shows the albums, it will start to play and then quits playing and causes the Synology NAS to go haywire and become unusable and unreachable from any other of my connected devices. The only way to get my server back is to reboot it! Contacted WiiM and they were very responsive but the fault remains. I have no problems with any other devices connecting to the NAS and playing music. I now use my old Yamaha WX-AD10 if I want to stream music from my Synology Diskstation.

I'm very interested in the Wiim Pro as a possible replacement for my BlueSound Node2i. I have recently switched from Tidal to Qobuz and regrettably the api that Qobuz provides for BlueOS lacks any filter ability on your album library, a total mess! Have you had the chance to check out the Qobuz api in the Wiim app? If so, does it provide a basic choice of filters for your release/album library? At least with the Wiim Pro I could use Chromecast from the native Qobuz app, which I really like.

I cannot understand how a DAC can be rated in terms of airness and spaciousness. A DAC either does a great analog conversion or does a bad analog conversion (at different degrees of badness), but a bad conversion won't remove airness and spaciousness and a good conversion won't add airness and spaciousness.
A bad conversion can at best (or worst) add a slightly glassy tinny sound, similar to anti-aliasing issues.

For iOS users with Apple Music, the AirPort Express (used market $15-30) Airplay 2 does the same thing. The wiim has better sound quality ONLY when using a streaming service that is native to wiim. Apple Music is not native.

Tidal is a dinosaur. Almost no users and tainted by MQA nonsense. Qobuz is much more interesting.
