The new Bose Quietcomfort buds and the second gen AirPods pro both make BOLD claims about ANC, so which is actually best? I tested them head to head. Follow me on social media! ADDITIONAL REVIEW NOTES: The new AirPods Pro 2 may look similar to the original AirPods Pro, but I assure you, these are a completely different experience and I am blown away by how much improvement we are seeing here. Similarly, I recently said the Bose Quietcomfort Earbuds 2 may very well be the most improved pair of earbuds this year! The original versions of these two earbuds were duking it out two years ago for the best ANC earbuds, but now with these massive improvements, it is time to compare the new AirPods Pro 2 to the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds 2. I promise, this is going to be interesting ANC TEST Bose claims to have the world's best ANC AirPods claim to be 2x better than the previous ANC they had These are both insanely good! Bose has 11 levels between transparency and ANC but can never turn off AirPods only have ANC/off/Transparency Both have adaptive transparency with dB threshold Makes these something you could perhaps wear at a concert to protect your ears You’re going to hear different and conflicting analyses between these earbuds, so I want to quantify it for you and remove any doubt. Airplane on speaker - vol 35 on Bose vs 27 on AirPods Air conditioner test - disappears completely with airpods, can still hear it with bose like a gentle hum Female voice test - could not hear until volume 16, airpods = 13 Wind test - both are about the same. Most angles are find, but a stiff breeze head on is definitely very audible Airpods are better at achieving complete silence, but Bose is better at muting loud sounds. AirPods perform better up to around 52dB, but above that and especially above 55dB, the Bose earbuds perform better. Transparency is really good on both of them. Undoubtedly two industry leaders, but Bose are a little hissier - otherwise super accurate With music playing, Bose sounds like the music is playing in the room and not your ears - amazing! MIC TEST AUDIO QUALITY Both just SBC & AAC codecs Bose have warm and capable bass and you can really hear the music in a natural balance, or adjust via the EQ in the app. Great dynamic sound with thumpy bass, a realistic sound to live recordings, and an accurate sound for studio recordings. As I mentioned originally, they are slightly less detailed than something like the Sennheisers or B&O EX AirPods have volume adjusted tuning for a great balance at any volume Bose has more bass and especially powerful subbass which contributes to the more powerful ANC, AirPods have more clarity Bose has a very wide soundstage. Fills the room in aware mode It really comes down to preference. You can’t go wrong with either of them FEATURES Find My SPEAKER TEST (on case) Bose works well with android or apple Both have mono mode Neither has multipoint, but AirPods sort of do for apple products only, Bose has app switching Tap and swipe controls vs Pinch and swipe EarScan for 360 audio in AirPods Bose plays calibration sound for each ear Bose has “modes” DESIGN Bose case has no wireless charging AirPods case can charge qi, magsafe, apple watch, or lightning Bose battery = 6/24hrs AirPods battery = 6/30hrs AirPods are smaller with smaller case AirPods have lanyard hook Both are comfortable, and both eventually fall out of my left ear Bose has wing tip, so more secure AirPods are smaller though and have an XS tip added this time AirPods have skin detection PRICE Links below! $250 vs $300t Disclaimer: This video is purely based on my experiences, research, and opinions. I’ll say this: When my AirPods worked, they were a magical experience. Then a speaker blew. Sent them back. Second pair had issues charging (I guess they were coming loose inside the case), and random connectivity issues. Third set blows another speaker and every time I’d put them back in the case and take them out, I’d have to forget them and repair. I threw them out the window while driving. Just kissed me off none of them worked. The build quality on Bose has always been solid. AirPods just feel cheap and junky. Their software is clunky and apparently their speakers don’t hold up. Never had an issue with any of these from Bose.
I had a knockoff set of AirPod Pros I got for like $30 as a back up. They work better than the actual Apple ones. Don’t sound nearly as good but the software is flawless. 🤦🏻♂️
I just bought airpods 2 gen - the sound, connectivity and noise cancellation is great but… after one hour my 👂 hurt and they easy fall out
I have both. I prefer the Bose for listening and noise cancellation BUT they give me nothing but grief when talking on the phone. They don’t always connect and more frustrating, the person I’m talking to always reports having trouble hearing me.
The Bose had a lot more bass, but it was sort of muddy. Also the volume on the Bose was pretty low. To me the AirPods Pro 2 sound much better. Compared to the first generation it’s night and day. Especially in the noise cancellation, which rivals the Bose.
Bought both. Returned Apple today. They are decent but ANC randomly kept turning off. The bose while not quite as convenient have been just great.ANC is killer.
Ive gotta say. The ANC in Apples part is very sufficient. If you start audio playback, there probably wont be anything left to hear. Except you only listen at 5-10% volume.
Truly an excellent review!
One thing you left out though, which every reviewer does, that's very important to me because of my hearing loss is Conversation Boost. I only recently noticed that none of the APP2 reviews mentioned this so I haven't yet searched specifically for such reviews. But I'm surprised that no one do far has mentioned of it.
I have been a very long time of Bose product user. So, I'm not planning to change that! :)
Great review you have made comparing these two products.
“A jack hammer somebody drops a piano” tom and jerry have both entered the chat
rNobgfoIpjo&t=01m23s 01:23 Noise Cancellation is literally the bottom of my list of criteria for earbuds, in fact I would prefer not to have it at all.
Who the hell wears headphones at a concert?
Bose (Framingham, MA, USA) is clearly highly superior to that Californian crap.
Listening in bose qce 2 😁
I’m a Bose addict and at the same time iPhone as well. But AirPods Pro find feature is a big factor for me.
Mike u gave such breif info and I am happy that now I M clear and I know which one to choose thanx mate
Thanks for the clear and upto the point review
The AirPods Pro fall out of my left ear too. Fine if I’m sitting still but walking with them is a pain. I have ordered the Bose to see if I like them with my iPhone.
Got airpod pro 2s for christmas and i can say they are my new ears. I dont even know where to start. As someone coming from chord headphones, the upgrade is life changing. The noise control combined with low/mid volume music infused in spatial audio literally puts you inside the studio. The transparency mode to me is better than w/o headphones even on and im not even kidding. I was in the car with my cousin and the music he was playing sounded better being processed through adaptive transparency than it did with the naked ear. I may just be super excited about these but it really is a life changer. I think bose did too much with the app. While it is very cool to adjust nc & transparency, there really should be no need to, and it give you too many options.
the apple ones are chopy in adio
