I would have left the game previous season, but m+ kept me. Now they ruined that too. No content, no balance. Goodbye
Let WOW be WOW. Its always been like this and trash mobs are WOWS signature in raids. It is not only about the destination, its about the journey aswell. I had the most fun with my guild clearing trash mobs before entering the bossroom. I think it is more immersive if there are a lot of trashmobs, you have more time to take everything in.
food buff is overrated. the sad part wow raiding has been declining for a long time there are some fun mechanics Blizzard added, but not enough to keep me raiding.
to be honest, if blizzard addressed all the annoying problems, i would still be subscribed. when i get annoyed by the system, i just straight up unsub. if an mmo is not fun, the company should not get ANY money
"it's a forest of dicks" lol, well said my friend :)
14 devs did face a lot of people that were against jumping and teleporting in the early days. They just dug deep and said yeah....jumping and teleporting is fun soo...
Logistics killed Classic. People would have stuck with it longer if you didn't have to plan around getting goddamn world buffs and every little extra thing you could squeeze out to trivialize the content.
Bold of you to assume Blizzard wants to make a fun game rather than go whaling.
Long time MMO player, everything you said in here about WoW's raid design I agree. FF14's system is better by a mile--up to the actual fights which are the bottom-of-the-barrel awful. And I mean at every level. Normal, Savage, just awful. Trials are the exact same.
They are both cartoonishly easy and frustratingly dumb. The endgame team at square needs a complete overhaul.
I think another big problem I feel with WoW raiding (based on what I heard from Azmon in this vid) is that it sounds like some raids you need certain classes/teams to even do well in the raids. While one can argue that it is fun to have team synergy with other classes it can also become a pain to always need the same team type or worse, having to take only certain classes in. It immediately becomes boring when you NEED and don't need a certain class for a raid. If they can't make all clases/ team comps viable then they maybe need to rethink how they make raids or something.
I think we've all had a moment in games where we're like "thank god that's over" once we've finished a certain section
Classic social-based MMOs and modern MOs have definitely changed with newer tech and accessibility to get people invested and respecting their time.
To pull back away from the MMO-war topics, the systems of taking time to build up a perfect "raid team" and entering a crazy demanding area needing high co-op respect can be seen in plenty Persistent Survival and Roguelikes games, embracing into that classic-raid style.
Ff14 can feel like a job sometimes but you don't have to do it and it's not always something that will be rewarding for every player (ahem, relic weapons >.<). However, the other 99% of the content is fantastic and feels like you're playing an actual RPG that happens to be online vs a game-as-a-service that has RPG elements. The fundamental design is to be fun vs an experience that tickles your dopamine receptors and that is what will carry it far into the future.
Most of us have lives. So raiding that takes 2 plus hours...just makes no sense. There's bunch of things they can change to make it easier for EVERYONE ELSE thats not a "top guild" clear it. We all deserve to hit those end game feel goods
When I started playing classic, I liked the idea that it had quests that took you around different zones, and for a while I enjoyed how the extra travel made the world feel bigger and more open. But then I got to 40-50, and I was repeatedly expected to travel between places like Booty Bay and Gadgetzan, and taking the same flights and boat rides over and over, and it just felt like the game was looking for ways to waste my time.
And speaking of time wasting, there's the arbitrary super low drop rates for certain quest items, which was especially bad in classic. In FFXIV, when you're told to get X by killing Y, you're guaranteed to get one with each kill. In fact, they've completely done away with corpse looting, and any appropriate drops just appear in your inventory. Oh, and I've reached level 50 and not once have I been expected to cut someone's head off and carry it around in my bag. 👍
I haven't played Ffxiv or lost ark but I agree with Asmon plus everytime I open my desktop and see WoW Icon I instantly feel tired even thinking about playing WoW is making me tired.
Raiding in other games are better honestly, Elsword and Grandchase is a pay 2 win no doubt but doing their raids is much more enjoyable than stressing out your Raidcomp in WoW
I totally disagree. The mechanics of wow, alternating with the boss fight, make everything more difficult than the competition.
I think part of the issue that makes ffxiv raiding so good that even I do it as opposed to WoW and other's is people are understanding and kind they aren't gonna destroy you for a mistake here or there nor are they gonna jump on your case for being new nine chances out of ten people are understanding and try to help you out...I'd NEVER admit in wow I was new....You'd get lambasted and insulted.
i think the trash as fine, they just need to implement a shortcut to the boss once you get passed the trash the first time. One of the things i always hated about raiding in WoW is just that you always had to run back to the boss which wastes a good amount of time depending on the size of the raid.
My biggest complain about WoW raiding is that alot of mechanics require certain classes to efficently clear. I raided mythic at Legion and was totaly burned out because i played enhancer shaman and most of the bosses required ranged classes to do something while all i could do was deal dmg and watching my teammates fail one mechanic after the other which resulted in an instant wipe which i could do nothing to prevent.
FF14 on the other hand requires every player to do something and personal mistakes arent forced on every player. Group wipes because one player made an mistake is frustrating nothing more and should be removed from the game.
