#fender #fenderdeluxereverb #guitar The Fender 65 Deluxe Reverb: 🤍 (Affiliate) Welcome to this in depth demo and review of the Fender 65 Deluxe Reverb Reissue! One of the most classic of all tube amps, we're going to go through how to get some great tones out of this amp using a Fender Telecaster, a Gibson Les Paul and a Gretsch 6120. Also using a Maxon Apex 808 Tube Screamer and a One Control Pale Blue Compressor. What do you think and how do you like to dial in your Deluxe? Subscribe here: 🤍 🤍 🤍 This was not a sponsored review. The pedals I originally received in exchange for review videos, but my use of them in this video was not sponsored and done of my own volition. Disclaimer: I do basic audio editing on my videos to account for the microphones, preamp and room. This editing, mostly light EQ and compression, is intended to give you the most accurate representation of how the featured gear actually sounds. NO editing is done to misrepresent how the featured gear sounds in any way.

It took me over 24 years of wandering, but I finally came back to the Deluxe Reverb in 2010, and have been happy ever since. In this Ask Zac, I take you on my wandering through the tonal amp desert, that finally got me back to the venerable Deluxe Reverb, and also give some nitty-gritty info on how I set my amps, which tubes I use, and what type of speaker I prefer. These two amps look almost identical, but on the inside they couldn’t be more different. Which one do we buy? Life too short for long YouTube videos? Please see the ‘Interesting bits and go-to sections’ information below. Welcome to the show. One of life’s more puzzling mysteries is why That Pedal Show does not have a blackface Fender Deluxe Reverb amp. Erm, yet. This 6V6-powered, 22-watt titan of tone has brought the electric guitar to life on countless stages and in countless studios since the mid-1960s. It is without question one of THE classic guitar amps of all time. Ever. So we thought it high time we acquired one. Credit card at the ready. Hold your horses, Tiger. In 2019, Fender introduced the Tone Master series of amps, comprising a digital modelling Deluxe Reverb and Twin Reverb that, to the casual observer, look exactly like their valve-driven namesakes. Pick one up and you realise this isn’t the same thing at all. These relative featherweights require no hefty transformers and swap their ceramic speakers for neodymium. They are also considerably less expensive. It had to be done. We got them both in, gave them a blast and put our money where our mouths are. Let’s do this! Enjoy the episode! ETHICS STATEMENT We figure we may get some new viewers for this video so we'll reiterate this about That Pedal Show. We have never accepted, nor will ever accept, any payment for product placement, for making videos or for reviewing gear. We only play what we want to play and NOTHING else. TPS is funded via merch sales, Google ad revenue, Patreon donations and some retailer affiliate links. None of which influences our choice of gear, as you can hopefully tell by the stuff we use most. When we buy gear, we are usually able to do so with a trade or artist discount that's pretty consistent across the majority of manufacturers. We bought the ’65 Deluxe through Fender's artist program, and very grateful we are too. Thanks for reading! Welcome to the show! We can’t believe it’s taken us quite this long to make this video, but y’know, history is a long time and in paleontological terms we got to it pretty quick. Erm, undoubtedly two of Fenders best ever small/medium amps in this case in 2021 reissue format. Nothing special, no hand wireds, no special editions - we just plug a bunch of guitars in, use some basic pedals and ask, eventually, which one would you buy? Please enjoy the episode! Nowadays, pretty much anytime a guitar player is looking for a new valve amplifier, 9 times out of 10 they will be recommended a Fender Deluxe Reverb. Fender’s portable powerhouse has long been the go-to for players of all styles who’re looking for a solid, warm clean tone, on which to build their pedal kingdoms. Given its ever-increasing popularity, it’s easy to see why other amp builders want a slice of the action for themselves, and thus the boutique amp market was born - with each new and inspired builder looking to tweak the existing formula, add in some more player-friendly modern features and generally add their own stamp to the timeless package. In today’s video, we grab Fender’s modern-day take on the original, their ‘65 Vintage Reissue Deluxe Reverb, and throw it in the ring to fight it out against two of the finest boutique alternatives, Tone King’s Imperial Mk II & Two Rock’s Studio Signature combo. If you’re after a mega clean tone for the ages, you can’t go wrong with any of these choices. However, things can get interesting when you crank the volumes and enjoy the natural compression & breakup tones these amps have to offer, so be sure to listen for those clips! Let us know in the comments whether you prefer Fender’s more authentic take on their reissue, or either of the hot-rodded boutique alternatives! You may be wondering why your tube amp just doesn't sound that good when playing at lower volumes. In fact, it probably sounds completely different! In today's video I give some tips on playing your loud tube amp quietly at home. While I'm using a Deluxe Reverb, these tips work well for any tube amp that goes from 0-100 in the first digit of the volume knob, and especially amps with a "bright cap" (including most reissue Fenders) where the position of the volume knob determines the relationship of treble content to the rest of your sound. While this approach can't help you get your amp to overdrive at low volumes, it demonstrates how you can at least get the EQ right by using a simple volume pedal, as well as make get a large variety of other sounds using pedals to make up for the lack of amp breakup. In my opinion, you can get much better sounds this way compared to using attenuators or other methods that will inevitably suck some life out of your tone.

Two of Fender’s popular reissue valve amplifiers – which one would you choose? Life too short for long YouTube videos? See the ‘interesting bits and go-to sections timings’ below Welcome to the show! We recently did an episode comparing Fender’s highly successful ’65 Deluxe Reverb-Amp with the newer Tone Master Deluxe Reverb. You can watch it here: 🤍 That video spurred a whole load of comments asking us to compare other amps, but top of the list was the Deluxe Reverb Vs the Super Reverb reissues. We own both, so here goes! In this video we discuss a bit of (very) loose history, then play them clean and cranked with classic single coils and humbuckers, before trying a handful of common or garden overdrive, distortion and fuzz pedals. For everyone minded to comment on what we //didn’t// do, yes, we know we only used the high input of the vibrato channels. There are a whole other palette of sounds from the low inputs and the other channels, should you wish to experiment. No P90s either. No idea how we omitted that – apologies to all you P90 people. Trevor is back so you know what time it is - Fender amp time! Today we've got a 1965 Fender Deluxe Reverb amplifier, all-original with the exception of replaced filter caps! These blackface Deluxe Reverbs are so wonderful, and this particular one is a great example - great breakup, lovely cleans, lush reverb and good all around physical condition at a reasonable weight and output power. You'll hear how great it sounds when Trevor plugs in his Pin-Up S-style and T-style guitars (built by Eric Daw) for the demo! For more information on the amp, please give us a call as this just arrived in the shop! Music: The Hollers "Good To Me" (Instrumental)

Fender 65 Deluxe Reverb - 🤍 Fender Tone Master Deluxe Reverb - 🤍 Fender 65 Twin Reverb Amp - 🤍 Fender Tone Master Twin Reverb - 🤍 Fender has taken a giant leap into the world of amp modelling with its Tone Master combos. Although they might look like traditional Deluxe and Twin Reverb amplifiers, the Tone Masters are actually completely valve-less! Instead, they rely on their massive digital processing power to convincingly emulate the tone and response of their tube-powered counterparts. Featuring a powerful 100W solid-state power amp, the engulfing headroom that the valve-driven Deluxe Reverb is known for is faithfully recreated with incredible precision. And with the pronounced sparkle and clarity of a single Jensen N-12K neodymium speaker, fitted within a resonant pine cabinet - the result is tubeless Deluxe Reverb tone, volume and dynamics that are virtually indistinguishable from the all-tube original. Even with all of these premium features, the Tone Master Deluxe Reverb weighs about only half as much as an all-tube Deluxe. Here is the all time great butchered up Fender amp! A fellow in Texas sent this to me to remove a terribly performed modification. The amp was full of unsafe loose circuit boards, held in by zip ties, electrical tape, buggers, whatever the guy could find to create the catastrophe. I have never seen documentation of this crazy mod and really gets me to wonder why y would do this to a classic tube amp. A very fun project for me. The amp is now operating. I still have some clean up to do, replace a few more components, test with a reverb tank. Then I will ask the owner what else he desires. After that is complete, I will feature part 2. I hope you enjoy this joint adventure by D-Lab and the Kobbler! Always interesting what you will find. TD
In this video, I am comparing the Fender Super-Sonic 22 to the Fender '68 Deluxe Reverb FSR. I will compare them both clean and with pedals. I will also compare how the drive channel of the Super-Sonic 22 compares with a pedal on the deluxe reverb. ►Sky Music - 🤍 ►Fender Super-Sonic 22 - 🤍 ►Fender Deluxe Reverb - 🤍 Thanks to Sky Music for the loan of both of these amplifiers. Here we do some testing and repair work on a 1966 fender deluxe reverb with all original parts and tubes. Most people would replace the electrolytic filter and circuit capacitors but since I’m not touring with this amplifier I’m gonna leave them in there as long as it’s working well.
