Kizlyar Supreme Maximus knife field test and review in English After just over two weeks field testing the Maximus in D2 steel during camping and day fishing trips in the wilds. I found the Maximus to be a very nice knife to handle and use for basic camping tasks. As I said in the video I know this knife will be good for 2-3 day hunting trips as I used a similar styled knife many many years ago for exactly that. The G10 handle scales are tough and very grippy but no so that they are uncomfortable in the un-gloved hand. The fuller or blood groove will add strength and rigidity to this knife at the same time reducing it's overall weight a bit. The Maximus IS NOT a chopper, if you want a chopper stay tuned for a review on the M7 from LionSteel or see the review on the 299B. The finish of the Maximus is very good with XLNT attention to detail. This actual knife was a warranty replacement after my previous one developed an ever so slight movement of a handle scale, which I might add the scales would never come off the knife. Kizlyar Supreme true to their word (in their warranty) was very prompt with replying to my emails and at no time did they try to make up some BS about the defect, unlike some other manufacturers I've reviewed for. The knife and scabbard (there was nothing wrong with that) were replaced. Please stay tuned for that video too showing the Maximus in a different environment. The carry system for this knife too is of XLNT design and effects a silent knife removal and no rattle so that's a plus if your stalking game up close eg bow hunting. I would prefer to see stainless steel handle rivets in place of the aircraft grade aluminium. This knife was supplied by Kizlyar Supreme for review. BushCampingTools (BCT) prides itself in telling it how it is in a no BS Aussie way whether knife is supplied or I personally buy the knife or outdoor tool(s) You can see the model here to: 🤍

Kizlyar Supreme Alpha Field Test and Review English Language. Here I field test the Alpha knife from the Tactical Echelon Series of knives from Kizlyar Supreme. This model Alpha is the latest Alpha model that comes with a partly serrated blade. The test model was made from D2 tool steel. The same model is available in AUS8 both options can either be coated with a Ti ceramic or satin finish. The handle was very comfortable, made from a Kraton with an ABS internal structure. ABS or Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene is an extremely tough polymer with excellent heat resistance. The handle was good in ungloved hands either wet or dry. The Alpha is a operators/tactical knife. The large false edge allows swift movement of the knife and also optimal for penetration of the blade. The blade width is not so great for outdoor tasks but then again as I said it's an operator's knife. However, if your like me and like to use military style knives for the outdoor usage then the Alpha did not perform too badly in this respect. I did try and cut through some very big catfish vertebrae and just couldn't do it easily but this was simply because of lack of blade width. Something which the Maximus, Also by Kizlyar Supreme would have not trouble with. All that being said I liked the knife and like all the Kizlyar Supreme knives I've tested to date was razor sharp. The serrations ( I love them- on some knives) were deadly sharp and I had no problems with slicing through climbing type ropes. The scabbard is really nice and well made, can't fault it and as expected for a good tactical knife, the Alpha can be removed silently from the scabbard.

From the cold wilderness of the far East comes the Forester from Kizlyar Supreme. Designed in co-operation with Lesnye (Foresters) Bushcraft team in Russia, the Forester is designed to handle a variety of tasks in the wild. Simple in design and avoiding the superfluities of most outdoors knives, the Forester boasts almost 5” (4 and 3/4) of Bohler N690 steel blade. The embossed brown leather sheath features a dangler system to allow ease of carrying and access. Loop for a fire steel (not included) is built into the profile of the sheath. The leather sheath also has a hole towards the tip to allow for a string to tie to your thigh to prevent noise while moving. Forester is well thought out from blade to sheath.
DV-2 - “Dalnya-Vostorchny Spetsnaz”, an acronym for a special purpose unit within the Russian military, whose operational role mainly encompasses the form of a “mobility troop” type, being LRRP (long range reconnaissance patrol) and counter-insurgency operations. This model of knife was designed by the unit and was subsequently made to their specifications. Their requirement was that their knife should be of the extreme hard use type, able to be used for the majority of tasks associated with living off the land deep behind enemy lines or in a frozen Siberian wasteland.
