Meet my LEGO Education Spike Prime Scorpion robot. It's a six-legged walking robot with a vicious spiky tail. Fun with mechanics and coding! This hexapod walker can be built with a LEGO Spike Prime set, a Spike Prime expansion set and some extra bricks you can borrow from another Spike set (in my case from the remaining pieces of my SwirlBot). The leg design is based on the EV3 walker from Audiultra Robotics and apparently I was also subconsciously inspired by the Mindstorms NXT scorpion who was even called SPIKE. I never had or made this one but when I looked up LEGO Scorpions afterwards I guess I must have seen a movie of that robot once. In any case it is a nice tribute to the ancestor of the SPIKE robot. See my 'How To Build Spike Prime Scorpion' video for building instructions. Note: the LEGO SPIKE Prime 45678 set is the educational version of the new LEGO MINDSTORMS Robot Inventor 51515 set.

A LEGO machine capable of building house of cards. After a long time without personal projects I decided to revisit an old concept that I made for a client that didn´t became reality. It always a challenge to create machines that will interact with other objects, and in this case, the challenge is a little bigger because the objects are playing cards and the goal is to stack them into a house. To be able to solve this, I ran through several small hypothesis and many prototypes. For me, LEGO is one of the most powerful prototyping tool because I can easily built different solutions and test them in a small period of time. Some of the challenges: - Choosing the deck of cards - Cards feeder - Cards grabber - Model Stability - Communication between Hubs The hole process took more than 200h, divided in several nights and weekends for 5 months. I am happy with the final result and I am not planning to do any new version of the LEGO House of Cards machine. NO BUILDING INSTRUCTIONS!
