So you can't say the word "consent" what about "permission" or other substitute words and phrases out there? Where's all the freedom that some people yell about? Most sexual assault and harassment comes from people they know, even family. This is why kids should not be forced to be touched or touch others early in life not the day before a wedding. Kids should learn how their body works before it surprises them one day. If they want to stop teen pregnancies and abortion teaching this early in life is part of how to stop the stuff that they say they care about.
People who make informed decisions usually make better decisions. If schools are supposed to be preparing kids for the adult world, why are they not being taught about their own bodies? I don't understand how someone can think sex ed encourages sex. All it does is teach kids what they need to know for WHEN they are ready, whether that means tonight, next year, or on their wedding night. Reproductive health is an important part of adulthood, and everyone deserves to understand what happens within their own bodies, AND their partners' bodies.
This is amazing but so depressing that it's necessary. How can these communities just fail their children so spectacularly?

I'm grateful someone is tackling a problem that should be covered in classrooms. Talk, talk, talk with your kids about the tough topics. It's the only way they feel comfortable discussing their tough things with you when the need arises.

Hmmm. Hard to take the chick seriously about how she can shut off all touching while she is sitting there petting her dog who can't very well shut her off. The point is to know the difference between good and appropriate touching. Clearly she doesn't know. That is called really bad parenting.
This is ridiculous, schools should be teaching this stuff. It’s absolutely Sad. My 14 year old has known about this stuff for years and my 19 knew it when he was younger. Both of my kids are boys, they know that no means no, it doesn’t mean maybe or I’m just kidding…sure…it means no. We live in rural sw Virginia. I’m glad these kids are learning it. And sharing it with adults but come on, as adults these parents have gone through things that should make it easier to teach their children. That’s how my kids learned, bc I wasn’t afraid to talk about what I experienced and how it affected me. And how No means NO! And how it affects a person mentally if they aren’t respected when they say No.
Why don't you men and women learn about abstinence?
Wait for the right man or woman, and get to it.
Practice and sustain an everlasting relationship--marriage, instead of thinking about cheating, other people, or even divorce, learn to make it work.
Look at Asian cultures and traditional Christians (there are more examples, but these are the most prominent if we are talking within the Americas[including Canada, which has an identity crisis and takes much from their older sibling]).
The whole consent is already wrapped in abstinence before marriage.
