Also until I think 1996 Mario was originally from Brooklyn and had a regular voice. Plus not all Italians have an accent. Which is why Chris voice works so well. I think you’ll hear the “Italian” aspect when he’s excited or having fun like at the end of the trailer.

Never doubted Illuminations animation to not deliver. They been wowing me since The Despicable me franchise started. I'm watching this with the fam for sure! EXCITED for the kids reaction at the cinema.
