for nontechnical persons, this guy could have earned 2x-10x what bill gates have earned, but he decided to make it free..! where windows and mac OS were earning tons of money, this is the guy who gave birth to Linux which is free and so much flexible for servers. Sadly, many people don't know him. And Linux OS is powering most of the internet and even your phones from behind...
